Traveling to Denmark was a great experience and attending Drupalcon made it all that much more enjoyable. I really valued experiencing Copenhagen with my friends in Drupal community. Kudos to everyone for being so friendly, adventurous and generous. The social gatherings, conference sessions and overall planning were excellent. The Drupalcon Copenhagen team really did an outstanding job of organizing this event.

I stayed at the Danhostel City location and shared a hostel room with three 5 other people two of whom were attending Drupalcon. The view from the 12th floor room was very scenic. It overlooked the Havnebad river area, the Islands Brygge neighborhood and several historic towers. Every night I looked forward to the absolutely beautiful sunsets. I really enjoyed working on my laptop in the lobby of the hostel. Watching people, enjoying the coffee and talking with other Drupal folks was really great.

Copenhagen preserves it's vast and rich history while maintaining a careful balance of it's modern society. I loved the bicycle culture and found it interesting that 37% of the population travel by bicycle every day, recycling is very much expected of everyone and energy conservation is on the forefront. The architecture is very much being preserved but inside the classical building a modern Scandinavian style furnishings are found everywhere. It is true that the standard of living is among the highest in the world and can be felt while traveling Denmark.

Drupalcon Copenhagen was held in a very large, modern convention center. To reach venue for the first time I walked from the hostel and through Amager park. The venue was very large and accommodated the community well and the session were well planned and creative. It was the first time I experienced the open microphone Birds of a Feather session which was quite fun. There were many sessions that were not developer oriented and focused on business and design objectives.
During the pre-conference and Drupal 7 code sprint, I had the privilege of video recording and posting several interesting presentations. I shot from the hip, literally! I used the camera on my MacBook Pro and positioned myself in the front row where I could capture the speaker and slides. It worked out quite well with minor editing.
