Since 1947, our goal has been your satisfaction. Alkar was in founded by Al Karschner in Omaha, Nebraska. Al started by recovering pool tables and as the business grew, he expanded into a retail store selling pool tables and supplies under the name of "Karschner Billiards." The problem was that nobody could spell or pronounce the name, so Al changed it to the name we know today, "Alkar."
